Rod Lowe – Superintendent/Principal

Elementary and Middle teacher 8 yrs., Principal Internship: 4 yrs, Asst. Principal, 2 yrs. Principal at Vallivue Middle School from 1997-2014.  AWARDS: NASSP Breakthrough School Award 2012, Middle Level Educator of the year 2014.
A native Idahoan, Rod grew up in Meridian. He has been married 33 yrs. to his wife Diane and together they have 2 daughters – Lindsay & Allyson, and 1 granddaughter. Rod is a certified Chaplain and served Accent Hospice from 2014-2015. His family attends MGT Legacy church in Meridian where he is actively involved in several ministries including playing bass guitar for worship and leading small groups. Rod resides just outside of Greenleaf with his wife.

Ellen Morse – Director of Advancement
B.A. in Music Education K-12, George Fox University.
M.A. in Music Education with Secondary Choral Education, Boise State University.
33 years teaching experience (22 years at GFA).
Accepted position as GFA Director of Advancement in 2012.

Kathy Hazen – Office Administrator/Registrar
B.A. Elementary Ed, NNU 1993
A.A. Christian Service, NNU 1993
9 years teaching experience in Elementary, Middle and High School. Kathy has 4 children, 2 of which are currently enrolled at GFA and 2 are graduates. Her husband Michael is also a GFA graduate and several years ago, they moved from Alaska to Greenleaf, ID in order to enroll their children at Greenleaf Friends Academy.

Amanda Taylor – Marketing Director/Webmaster
B.A. Communication, Azusa Pacific University 1993
20 years of diverse marketing, branding, communications, strategic planning, sales, management and networking experience. Amanda has been married to Sean Taylor for 21 years and they have 4 children (17,14,10,8), all of whom are currently enrolled at GFA. She and her family moved from Boise to Caldwell in 2015 in order to be closer to Greenleaf Friends Academy.


Maxene Brown – Business Manager
B.A. in Accounting, Boise State University.
Maxene has been at GFA for 20 years and she and her husband, Clayton, will celebrate 30 years of marriage in June, 2017.  Their daughter, Lindsay, is a 2006 graduate of Greenleaf Friends Academy.  Maxene loves helping families develop an affordable tuition payment plan that helps them keep their children enrolled at GFA each year.  The greatest reward is watching these children and parents settle into school life and enjoy all that Greenleaf has to offer.

Joy Kaplan – Elementary, Middle, & High School Counselor, IDLA Cite Coordinator, Assessment Testing Coordinator, National Honor Society Advisor, ASB Assistant Advisor, Section 504 Coordinator

M.S. Counseling LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)- NNU
Speciality Areas: Adlerian Psychology, Grief Loss & Trauma, Play Therapy for Children. Pupil Personnel Certification Department of Education- School Counseling- NNU.
Joy loves spending time with her husband and family and doing anything outdoors: camping, hiking, fishing, boating, four-wheeling, dirt-bike riding, coffee, movies, friends, books. She has 3 step-boys that are: 9,11,13 years old so adventure and resiliency is a definite for most of our family activities. She loves working with students and effecting change in their lives while helping them in the process of taking their next steps in school, and planning their life beyond. Everyday is different and Joy looks forward to the challenges and opportunities to help students to overcome, create, and succeed! Joy and her family reside in Meridian.

Cindy Truesdell – Preschool/Daycare Director

Graduate of Greenleaf Friends Academy 1988.
Attended Boise State University and TVCC
Certification in Dental Assisting from American Institute of Health Technology

Preschool/daycare Director for the last 5 years. Dental Assistant from 1990-2011. Cindy and her husband Ken have 4 children. 1 is currently employed at GFA and 2 attend the Academy. Currently she lives in Greenleaf and loves being involved In fundraising for the Academy.

Lynnea Vance – Elementary Director, Title One Director, and Educational Coach

Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
Masters in Exceptional Student Education with a concentration on Educational Therapy (in progress)

Lynnea has taught 14 years as an elementary classroom teacher. Her husband Tim is a GFA graduate as well as all three of their children – Michael 2009, Rachel 2011, Bethany 2013. Tim’s parents, Joe and Mazie Vance are also GFA graduates.
