Athletics

The sports programs available at Greenleaf Friends Academy help balance out the academic focus.  Building a foundation together as a team is a valuable life skill as well as creating strong and healthy young people.  Students interested are welcome and encouraged to be in the sports programs.

GFA’s sports programs have won many awards and provide a great experience for our athletes.

A complete list of programs available to students is noted below.

GFA is a member of the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) and participates in the Western Idaho Conference (WIC) Division 1AD1.

NCAA

College admission requirements for an NCAA student athlete may be different than for regular applicants. If you are interested in playing college sports at the NCAA Division I or II level, check with your coach, athletic director, and the college of your choice to determine exact criteria. You can also check with the NCAA Clearinghouse Online and look for student athlete links to academic eligibility and application.

Season Passes

Season passes for all home GFA games (excluding play-off games) are for sale through the Athletic Department. Cost is $140 for a family pass and $100 for an individual pass.

Insurance

Every student in grades K-12 may participate in an accident insurance plan. This plan covers accidents occurring in the school during the school day, while attending or participating in school sponsored activities (except interscholastic tackle football), on school grounds or not, traveling directly to or from home for regular classes (travel not to exceed an hour before and after school), or traveling in school provided vehicles at any time.

Special football coverage is also available through the school. All high school students involved in interscholastic athletics must either carry school insurance or a plan provided by the parents.
